After churning out action movies like ‘Aadi’, ‘Chennakesavareddy,’ ‘Bunny,’ ‘Samba’ and ‘Lakshmi,’ action director-turned-hero V V Vinayak has reportedly chosen an action role for his debut flick as hero ‘Seenayya’. “V V Vinayak is a master in dishing out action films and connects well with such subjects. When he heard a story of a fiery role, he agreed to play the lead, despite showing some reluctance initially,” says a source, close to the unit and adds “He will be playing a brooding role and would be indulging in few slam-bang action sequences to give action heroes a run for their money,” he adds.
Actually, young director Narasimha Rao was adamant to rope in ‘Tagore’ director for the lead role and even convinced producer Dil Raju and then things fell in place. “Narasimha Rao wanted Vinayak at all costs and managed to convince Dil Raju to bet his money on director-turned-actor as he felt that he would be the best choice,” the source points out.
However, at the muhurat, Vinayak didn’t reveal much about the story and said “Dil Raju garu is known for his quick decisions. I heard the story from Narasimha Rao.
It was like a biopic of somebody. Mine was a very good and solid character which has various shades of emotions.” He claimed to have lost weight to fit into the fiery role, while director Narasimha Rao said that he is hopeful of making an impressive film. “Vinayak didn’t want to essay character roles of father or uncle in movies. In fact, acting was never in his mind, until Dil Raju and Narasimha Rao approached him with a powerful script which he couldn’t decline.” the soure concludes.
