Aditi Rao Hydari: The Nizam’s Granddaughter Who Shone Bright in Tollywood
Aditi Rao Hydari is not just a celebrated actress in South Indian cinema but also a woman of royal lineage. Known for her elegance and expressive performances, she once ruled the hearts of fans across the Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi industries. However, she has now taken a step back from the spotlight.
Aditi comes from an illustrious background. She is the granddaughter of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, a descendant of the Nizam of Hyderabad, and also of Raja Rameshwar Rao of Wanaparthy, a noble family from Telangana. Adding to this, she is a cousin of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Her heritage alone sets her apart in the film world.
Born on October 28, 1986, in Hyderabad to Ehsaan Hydari and Vidya Rao, Aditi had a unique upbringing. Her parents divorced when she was just two years old, and she was raised by her mother in Delhi, where she later pursued her education at Lady Shri Ram College.
Aditi entered the entertainment industry with a strong passion for acting. Despite marrying young, her early marriage ended in divorce, after which she completely focused on building her career. She debuted in Kollywood with the film Romantic (2007) and went on to appear in numerous critically acclaimed movies.
She rose to prominence acting in Mani Ratnam’s films and carved out a unique space for herself, balancing roles across Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. Her Bollywood breakthrough included Delhi 6 and other urban dramas.
Recently, she made headlines again by marrying a South Indian star, though her screen appearances have reduced. With a filmography of over 26 films, Aditi has built a strong fan base, thanks to her classical beauty and intense screen presence.
On Father’s Day, she took to social media to share nostalgic childhood photos with her father, once again reminding fans of her deeply personal and royal roots.
Although opportunities seem scarce at the moment, fans are still hopeful that this royal star will soon return with another powerful performance.
