Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Drishyam: The Conclusion is gearing up for its theatrical release on October 2. The makers recently unveiled the theatrical trailer at a special event in Goa, where Ajay Devgn made an interesting revelation about the film’s storyline.
Speaking at the event, Ajay Devgn clarified that the Hindi version is not simply a modified adaptation of the upcoming Malayalam installment. He revealed that Drishyam: The Conclusion has an entirely new story and is completely different from Drishyam 3 in Malayalam.
“Our film is entirely different from the Malayalam Drishyam 3. It’s not like we made certain changes. The story is new,” Ajay Devgn stated. He also expressed his eagerness to show the film to Mohanlal and the Malayalam team.
Ajay added that he would be extremely happy if Lal sir and his team watched the film and appreciated it. His comments have further increased curiosity around the project, particularly among fans who have been following both versions of the Drishyam franchise.
The trailer itself appeared to suggest that the Hindi film would take a different narrative route. With Ajay Devgn now officially confirming that the story is entirely new, the movie is likely to be viewed less as a conventional remake and more as a fresh chapter in the franchise.
This distinction could also work in favour of the film at the box office. Since audiences are already familiar with the Malayalam Drishyam franchise, presenting a completely different story gives the Hindi version an opportunity to surprise viewers rather than simply invite comparisons with the original.
