Allu Arjun to Collaborate with Malayalam Director Basil Joseph? Here’s What We Know
Allu Arjun, fondly called “Mallu Arjun” by his massive fan base in Kerala, may soon be taking that nickname to a whole new level. Reports are buzzing that the Telugu superstar is in talks for his first-ever collaboration with a Malayalam filmmaker—none other than Basil Joseph, the man behind Netflix’s superhero hit Minnal Murali.
From his early dubbed films to the nationwide success of Pushpa: The Rise, Allu Arjun has built a loyal following in Kerala. And now, with Pushpa 2 generating sky-high anticipation, the actor’s post-Pushpa lineup seems to be shifting dramatically.
Initially, Bunny had lined up films with Trivikram Srinivas (a mythological epic based on Lord Murugan) and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, but both projects appear to be on hold. Trivikram’s Murugan project has reportedly been passed on to Jr NTR, while Sandeep is preoccupied with Prabhas’ Spirit and the Animal sequel (Animal Park).
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun’s massive project with Atlee, backed by Sun Pictures, has already begun filming in Mumbai. Touted as a commercial spectacle, it’s set for a late 2026 release.
Now, the buzz is that Basil Joseph recently narrated a pan-India script to Allu Arjun, who was “highly impressed.” If the collaboration moves forward, the film will be produced by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner, with Jakes Bejoy likely scoring the music.
Basil Joseph, already known in Telugu households through dubbed hits like Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, is gaining traction among wider audiences. This possible crossover project has created excitement not just in Telugu and Malayalam cinema but across India.
While an official announcement is yet to be made, insiders suggest the news could drop in the second half of 2025. If this collaboration happens, it’ll mark a pan-India milestone and fulfill a long-standing dream for Mallu Arjun fans across the south.
