Amazon Alexa is getting better faster

Date:

Amazon Alexa is indeed doing well as a leading smartphone and is operating faster. It is competing well with other smartphones operating in the field.

It is interesting to know that all of the three of the leading smartphone-based digital assistants are indeed getting better at accurately answering questions. This is revealed by a new study by Loup Ventures.  It has also been observed that Amazon Alexa is getting better faster.

Google Assistant does of course still take the lead over Apple’s Siri, followed by Amazon’s Alexa.

But Siri outperformed Google Assistant as it correctly responded to the commands, say the study’s authors. Amazon Alexa is getting better faster indeed.

All three of the leading digital assistants are of course getting better at responding to human questions, but one still does hold the top spot.

For the second year in a row, Loup Ventures did find that Google Assistant did answer more questions correctly as compared to Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa in its annual IQ test. The study tested smartphone-based digital assistants by asking each the same 800 questions about finding nearby places, ordering goods, navigating as well as more. The study does evaluate whether the assistants correctly understood the question and the accuracy of their responses. It has been observed that Amazon Alexa is getting better faster.

Google Assistant did correctly answer 93% of the questions and understood all 800, according to Loup Ventures. Siri came in second, answering 83% correctly and also misunderstanding two questions. Alexa answered 80% correctly but only misunderstood one, according to the study.

The ranking did remain consistent with that of last year’s study, but all three assistants did show improvement in their scores, Loup Ventures said. In July 2018, Google Assistant did answer 86% of questions correctly while Siri answered 79% correctly. Alexa made the biggest jump from year to year, thus improving nearly 19 percentage points from an accuracy score of just 61% in 2018.

Many of the same trends do continue; Google rather outperforms in information-related questions, does handle commands best, and the ranking of utility based on the number of questions’ answer have remained the same. This year, Siri outperformed Google Assistant in the command category. Both outperformed Amazon’s Alexa.

While one does expect Alexa to be best at questions about ordering goods, Google Assistant had the widest lead in the commerce category.

Apple does cancel Siri’s grading program that did pry on private conversations. Quality control does frequently come across recordings which should not have existed to start with.

Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, and Google Assistant are all rather getting better at understanding and answering questions.

Cortana although being removed and the isolation of assistants, the smartphone usages have not changed the order of the rankings.

Google Assistant is indeed at the top, but now with a score of 92.9% for answering questions correctly. Siri does correctly answer 83.1% of questions, while Alexa gets 79.8% correct.

The questions are varied and pertain to various issues such as things, businesses, navigation, and information, as well as executing commands. These observations about smartphones do inform how they operate and function with each other.
