Amazon India Generates Over 100,000 Seasonal Jobs for the Festive Season:

Amazon India announced on Friday that it has generated more than 100,000 seasonal employment opportunities within its operational network in preparation for the upcoming festive season.

These opportunities encompass both direct and indirect positions and are available in various cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai, among others. Akhil Saxena, Vice President of Operations for APAC/MENA/LATAM and Worldwide Customer Service Head at Amazon, stated, “We are welcoming an additional workforce of over 100K to strengthen our fulfillment, To enhance our delivery and customer service capabilities, and to provide a fantastic shopping experience for the millions of customers eager to shop with us.

In preparation for Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Festival,’ which begins on October 8 with early access for Prime customers on October 7, Amazon India has already integrated most of these new recruits into its existing network. They will be responsible for tasks such as picking, packing, shipping, and delivering customer orders.

Additionally, the new hires include customer service associates, some of whom participate in the virtual customer service model, aimed at enhancing the customer experience as Amazon expands its presence across the country.

Amazon India operates fulfillment centers in 15 states, providing 43 million cubic feet of storage space for seller inventory, benefiting more than 1.3 million sellers in the country. Furthermore, the company has sortation centers in 19 states and maintains a network of nearly 2,000 Amazon-operated and partner delivery stations.
