When BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya tweeted Karnataka Assembly Elections polling date, and result date, everyone was shocked. Along with common citizens, even politicians wondered how did he manage to get such sensitive information. Things became more interesting after the ECI (Election Commission of India) came up with the same dates: Polling on May 12, and results on May 15.
In the press meet held by ECI to announce the Karnataka Assembly Elections dates, the Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat also pointed out the tweet made by Amit Malviya and assured strict actions at all levels. In this context, a senior official from ECI confirmed that a special committee has been directed to probe this matter.
‘The investigation probe is underway with CBI and IT Dept. A special committee comprising of senior officials has been asked to submit the report regarding the leak. We are expected to receive the report in a week’s time’, said the official. It looks like Amit Malviya is in grave trouble with the ECI leak.
