Amit Shah to Inaugurate BJP’s Extensive Outreach Campaign in Dantewada Today:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is poised to commence the “Parivartan Yatra,” the BJP’s extensive outreach campaign, in the tribal-dominated region of Dantewada within Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district, ahead of the year-end assembly elections. The launch is scheduled for Tuesday, and Mr. Shah will begin by paying his respects to Maa Danteswari, the revered deity of Bastar, in the district headquarters of Dantewada. Subsequently, he will flag off the yatra and address a public rally on this significant occasion, as stated by Arun Sao, the state BJP president.
The Parivartan Yatra is an ambitious venture covering 1,728 kilometers across 21 districts in the state over a span of 16 days, culminating in Bilaspur on September 28. The BJP plans to organize 45 public meetings, 32 roadside gatherings, and five roadshows throughout the course of the yatra. Given the security concerns in the Naxal-infested Dantewada region, substantial security arrangements have been put in place.
Furthermore, the BJP has sought adequate security arrangements from the Director General of Police in Chhattisgarh for the yatra. The party is also preparing to initiate a second ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from Jashpur, a tribal-dominated area in northern Chhattisgarh, on September 15. This second yatra, set to take 12 days, will be flagged off by BJP National President J.P. Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a gathering of party members during this event.
Both yatras have been strategically designed to cover all 90 assembly constituencies in the state. Om Mathur, BJP’s National General Secretary in charge of elections in Chhattisgarh, unveiled two chariots designated for these yatras. He emphasized that the party has been diligently preparing for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections over the past year.
As per Mr. Sao, the yatras aim to expose various shortcomings and actions of the state Congress government while also raising awareness among the people about the diverse welfare schemes offered by the Central government.
