The actress, who surprised many with her bold avatar in Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Tillu Square last year, opened up about the challenges she faced while taking on that role.
The comedy caper, which featured intimate scenes, went on to become a massive blockbuster. However, during Paradha promotions, Anupama revealed she was initially hesitant. It took me a long time to say yes to Tillu Square. I was in two minds, and it was a tough decision. I couldn’t perform with complete confidence because that role is entirely different from my real life. I was not even comfortable wearing those outfits, as I don’t usually dress that way,” she said.
The actress further shared that she prefers a low-maintenance lifestyle and values comfort over appearance.“Investing time in looking good is something I don’t enjoy. The more comfortable I am, the more confident I feel, and that reflects in my performance. For me, playing a role where I had to look good constantly was the most challenging part. I also worried about how people might perceive me. There was criticism — people didn’t like me in that role, even though they liked the character itself, which was as strong as the hero’s.”
