The actress is currently gearing up for the release of her next Telugu film, Ghati, which hits theaters on July 11. She has also wrapped up her role in the ambitious Malayalam fantasy drama Kathanar—The Wild Sorcerer, which is expected to release later this year.
Now, the latest buzz suggests that Anushka may be joining Karthi in Kaithi 2, the much-anticipated prequel to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2019 blockbuster Kaithi. If true, it would mark her second collaboration with Karthi after Alex Pandian.
Though there’s no official confirmation yet, Kaithi 2 is said to be in pre-production, with shooting possibly starting in September. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is expected to carry his signature blend of gritty action and tight storytelling, further expanding the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
Fans are eager to see if Anushka takes on what could be a darker, action-heavy role—a stark contrast to her recent performances. If this casting rumor turns out to be true, Kaithi 2 could showcase a whole new side of the Baahubali star.
