Baahubali: The Epic – Rajamouli Brings Back the Magnum Opus in a Whole New Avatar
When Baahubali: The Beginning was released in 2015, it was more than just a film—it was a turning point in Indian cinema. For the first time, Telugu cinema broke into mainstream global recognition, with its grandeur, storytelling, and breathtaking visuals. The sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), not only shattered box office records but also set new benchmarks for Indian filmmaking in terms of scale, VFX, and cinematic ambition.
Now, a decade later, the Baahubali franchise still holds cultural and emotional resonance. While audiences continue to revisit the saga on television and OTT platforms, nothing compares to the sheer magic of experiencing Baahubali on the big screen.
On the 10th anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning, director SS Rajamouli and producer Shobu Yarlagadda have announced an exciting new cinematic journey—Baahubali: The Epic. Unlike a simple re-release, this project reimagines the two-part saga as a single seamless narrative, recut, remastered, and enhanced with fresh CGI and upgraded visual effects. The worldwide release is slated for October 31, 2025, perfectly timed with Prabhas’ birthday week.
The recently released teaser has already blown audiences away, showcasing what many are calling the most visually spectacular version of Baahubali yet. While Rajamouli hasn’t confirmed details, industry buzz suggests that, along with structural changes, a few new scenes and surprises may be included. Speaking about the project, Rajamouli explained:
“Both Baahubali films were conceived as one story, but it was too vast to fit into a single film. For the 10th anniversary, I didn’t want to just give audiences what they had already seen—I wanted to create a whole new experience.”
Baahubali: The Epic will release globally in premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, D-BOX, Dolby Cinema, and EPIQ, ensuring an immersive big-screen experience. This is not just a re-release—it’s a rebirth of Baahubali, rebuilt for today’s audiences as a cinematic epic of unprecedented scale.
