Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ latest film, Kishkindhapur, is surprising everyone at the box office. Released alongside the much-hyped Mirai, many expected the horror thriller to struggle. But contrary to predictions, the film is running strong and proving to be a winner.
What’s even more impressive is the trend in collections. Day three numbers have surpassed day two, which were already higher than the opening day. Such upward momentum is rare in Tollywood and shows the kind of love Kishkindhapuri is receiving from audiences. Despite heavy competition from Mirai and the blockbuster Little Hearts, the film has held its ground and is heading toward solid hit status.
Made on a budget of ₹32 crores, the movie has already recovered most of its investment through non-theatrical deals worth ₹28 crores. With theatrical rights valued at ₹8 crores, Kishkindhapuri grossed ₹15 crores in its opening weekend alone. Break-even is already achieved, and buyers are set to make good profits.
This marks a strong comeback for Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, who has been waiting for a hit since Rakshasudu. The film also puts producer Sahu Garapati back in the game after the underwhelming Laila. The Monday noon and matinee shows opened well, signaling a steady long run.
Anupama Parameswaran stars as the female lead. Trade analysts predict Kishkindhapuri could touch ₹30 crores gross by the end of its full run, making it one of the surprise hits of the season.
