Bellamkonda Sreenivas next film Bhairavam is creating strong anticipation among fans. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, the film features a stellar cast including Nara Rohit and Manchu Manoj in key roles. As part of the promotions, Bellamkonda Sreenivas got candid about his Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of Chatrapathi, originally a blockbuster by Prabhas and SS Rajamouli.
Sreenivas shared, “Among the current generation of Telugu actors, only Rana Daggubati and Ram Charan have worked in Bollywood. I thought Charan’s Zanjeer didn’t click since it was already a Hindi original. My producer Jayantilal Gada Garu believed the mother-son and stepbrother emotions would resonate well with the North Indian audience. I assumed many in the Hindi belt hadn’t seen the original Chatrapathi.”
Reflecting on the remake, he added, “I believed that Rajamouli Garu’s powerful emotional storytelling would work in Hindi. But post-COVID, viewing habits changed drastically. I was unsure during the shoot and couldn’t give my 100%. Looking back, I feel I shouldn’t have attempted to remake such an iconic film.”
Now, with Bhairavam lined up, Bellamkonda Sreenivas is focused on bouncing back stronger and delivering a gripping performance that fans won’t forget.
