This Friday, Tollywood is set for an exciting box office clash as two much-awaited films – Mirai and Kishkindhapuri – release on the same day. While Teja Sajja’s Mirai promises a fantasy action-adventure, Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ Kishkindhapuri dives into the world of horror and mystery.
Earlier, Sreenivas had voiced his displeasure about the clash, mentioning that the Mirai team could have informed them before announcing their release. However, during a recent interaction with social media influencers, the actor struck a far more gracious tone.
He said, “The Mirai team has also put in immense effort. Manoj Garu, Teja, and Karthik Gattamneni are good friends of mine. I genuinely wish both films entertain audiences and emerge successful.”
Sreenivas further added, “We announced our release date first, but due to certain circumstances, the Mirai team also had to arrive on September 12. I personally feel that clashes can be avoided with better planning, which will ultimately benefit the industry. There are times when theatres lack new content – such gaps could be filled with proper scheduling.”
Netizens are praising Sreenivas for handling the situation with maturity and positivity, without belittling the competing film. With strong promotions for Kishkindhapuri already in place, it remains to be seen whether both films can make their mark at the box office this weekend.
