Mollywood’s latest blockbuster Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has now made its way to Telugu audiences, with the dubbed version finally hitting theatres. The rom-com, headlined by Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has already created a massive impact at the box office, reportedly crossing the ₹230 crore mark worldwide.
Telugu Release Hurdle Cleared
The Telugu version initially faced a hurdle due to the film’s OTT agreement. As part of the deal, major national multiplex chains such as PVR, INOX and Cinepolis had restricted the release of the Telugu and Tamil versions.
However, with the OTT window now reportedly extended, the issue has been resolved. As a result, the Telugu version has been released without the earlier restrictions.
Bookings have also opened in the PIC chain, which is expected to give the film better visibility and improve its theatrical prospects in the Telugu states.
Girish AD’s Latest Success
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is directed by Girish AD, who previously impressed audiences with the Malayalam hit Premalu. The filmmaker has once again opted for a youthful romantic-comedy, backed by a strong ensemble cast.
The film is produced by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran. Along with Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, the cast includes Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan and Shameer Khan in important roles.
Music for the film has been composed by Vishnu Vijay. With its impressive global theatrical run already creating headlines, the focus is now on whether Bethlehem Kudumba Unit can replicate its Malayalam success among Telugu audiences.
