The BJP leadership’s delay in finalizing candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana has pushed the release of the first list to early March. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is reportedly conducting a separate assessment of potential candidates, aiming to secure maximum seats for the party in the state after the miscalculations in the previous assembly polls.
While some names like G Kishan Reddy and Arvind Dharmapuri are finalized, others like Soyam Bapu Rao’s candidacy are on hold. There’s a scramble for key seats like Mahabubnagar and Malkajgiri, highlighting the party’s efforts to bolster its presence, especially in constituencies like Hyderabad, currently held by AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi.
