Once again, the same scenes repeated in the Lok Sabha. The house has been adjourned to meet tomorrow, owing to the protests by AIADMK MPs. Soon, the opposition party leaders converged at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue outside the Parliament, decrying the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) rule in the nation.
Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also joined the protest. The opposition parties condemned NDA’s indifference towards various burning issues in the states. AP’s Special Category Status gained special attention, along with banking frauds, SC-ST Act, and other issues. What’s surprising is that YSRCP party from Andhra Pradesh and AIADMK party from Tamil Nadu did not participate in the protests.
Political analysts were quick to react to the development, stating that, ‘the absence of YSRCP and AIADMK from the protests is an example of their loyalty towards BJP. It is already evident that BJP ensured that AIADMK stopped the NCM from moving. Though many have questioned BJP’s acquaintance with YSRCP in recent times, given the presence of YSRCP MPs in PMO, the latest development has made this loud and clear’.It will be interesting to see whether TDP can capitalize on YSRCP’s backing off from the protests.
