Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been convicted in the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching case. At the time of the incident, the case became a sensation nationwide. Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre, Sai Ali Khan, Neelam, and Tabu were accused of poaching a blackbuck in Kankani village, Jodhpur. This event took place in September 1998, during the shooting of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.

In 2006, Salman Khan was found guilty by a trial court. He has sentenced him to 5 years under the Wildlife Protection Act. He has also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000. After Salman Khan served 6 days in the prison, the sentence awarded by the trial court was suspended by the Rajasthan High Court.

If Salman Khan is found guilty, he is likely to serve a maximum of 6 years in Jail. The judgment is expected to be released by today afternoon. Parallelly, another poaching case against Salman Khan is pending in the apex court. After he was acquitted in Chinkara deer poaching case, the Rajasthan Government challenged the verdict and approached the Supreme Court.
