Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited Brahmastra 2 has once again become a talking point, with fresh reports emerging about the film’s search for a studio partner. Director Ayan Mukerji is reportedly working on the ambitious sequel and has been exploring options to fund the project.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers were in discussions with Jio Studios to come on board as the studio partner for Brahmastra 2. However, the talks reportedly did not materialise, with Jio Studios now said to have decided against associating with the sequel.
The development has reportedly added another hurdle to the project, as the makers are still looking for a suitable studio partner to back the ambitious production.
Interestingly, Yash Raj Films (YRF) was also reportedly considered for the project at an earlier stage. However, the studio is said to have eventually stepped away following the disappointing performance of War 2.
With both Jio Studios and YRF reportedly out of the picture, the team is now said to be continuing its search for a studio that can support the sequel’s massive scale and production requirements.
Brahmastra 2 is expected to take the story of Ranbir Kapoor’s Shiva forward, with Ayan Mukerji continuing to build the ambitious Astraverse. While the project has generated considerable curiosity among fans, the latest developments suggest that the makers still have some major decisions to finalize before production can move ahead.
For now, the biggest question remains which studio will eventually come on board to bankroll Brahmastra 2? More clarity is expected once the makers finalize their partnership.
