Amid a big fuss about MLC Kavitha arrest, the BRS launched protests across the state, saying her detention was unfair. MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy led a demonstration at Malkajgiri crossroads, slamming the arrest and accusing the BJP of being vengeful since Prime Minister Modi took charge. Reddy warned of fighting back legally against such arrests.
In another protest at Amberpet, BRS MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and other leaders continued to criticize the arrest. Venkatesh promised to step up protests statewide, blaming Prime Minister Modi for dragging Kavitha into the Delhi liquor policy case. He cautioned against agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI being misused, hinting at consequences for BJP leaders.
The dissent also saw BRS workers burning an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ibrahimpatnam and staging a demonstration along the Sagar highway. M Prasant Kumar Reddy and other leaders stressed that voters would hit back at the BJP in the upcoming elections.
