Arava Gopi Krishan has been given a clean chit in the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Former Delhi Excise Commissioner Arava Gopi Krishan, who was implicated in the Delhi excise policy scam, has been exonerated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This development comes as a significant relief to Krishan, who faced multiple charges in the case. Despite being named as an accused in the FIR, no legal action will be taken against him.
According to a CBI source, no substantial evidence was found during the investigation to indicate Krishan’s involvement in any criminal misconduct. It was determined that he did not play a role in introducing favorable provisions in the excise policy but merely followed the directives of the Group of Ministers (GoM) and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The source emphasized that Krishan’s actions did not constitute any criminal offense.
Additionally, the CBI places great importance on Krishan’s statement, which was recorded under section 164 CrPc before a magistrate. In this statement, he revealed significant details that exposed the malicious intentions of Sisodia regarding the formulation and implementation of the Excise Policy 2021-22.
The CBI has already filed two charge sheets related to the Delhi excise policy scam and is now working on preparing a second supplementary charge sheet, furthering their investigation into the matter.
