Vicky Kaushal’s Chavaa Tops 2025 Box Office – Highest-Grossing Films of the Year
The Indian box office in 2025 has seen several blockbusters, but Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chavaa stands tall as the highest-grossing film of the last eight months. Made on a budget of ₹130 crores, the film has amassed a staggering worldwide collection of ₹808.70 crores, dominating both domestic and overseas markets.
Meanwhile, the low-budget hit Saiyaraa surprised everyone by emerging as the second-highest-grossing film of 2025. Despite facing competition from big releases like War 2 and Coolie, the film managed a worldwide collection of ₹542.40 crores and enjoyed a long theatrical run.
In third place is Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which stormed into theatres less than 10 days ago but has already collected ₹441.30 crores worldwide. The film continues to perform strongly both in India and abroad.
Alongside Coolie, NTR, and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 also hit theatres. The film recently crossed the ₹300 crore mark, placing it in fourth position among the year’s top earners.
Taking the fifth spot is Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, which, despite its massive budget, earned ₹292 crores worldwide.
Other notable mentions include Mohanlal’s Empuraan, Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par, and the Telugu blockbuster Sankranthi Ki Yaaram, which alone crossed the ₹300 crore mark, making it the biggest Tollywood hit of 2025 so far.
