China Warns Citizens In Pakistan Of Possible Taliban Attacks.China warned all its citizens residing in Pakistan to be on alert and stay indoors after it received intelligence reports about a possible attack intending to target Chinese.The Chinese embassy in Islamabad, on Friday, alerted on its website, that there is an information about a “series of terror attacks” planned against Chinese organizations, and personnel, not deviating many details. It advised all its citizens living in Pakistan to stay indoors and avoid crowded places.
We have seen there is an increase in terror attacks in recent years against Chinese as it expands its footprints in overseas. We even heard of Islamic groups stating to have kidnapped and killed Chinese teachers in Quetta in the month of June.1
Thousands of workers are laboring in Pakistan as China financed, USD 60 billion worth of infrastructure projects under Beijing’s “Belt and Road” initiative. The port and road-building projects in the province Baluchistan have been under constant uprising attacks.
While the government of Pakistan assured China that it will position troops to secure the economic corridor being built and root out anti-China militants in its northwestern tribal areas.
