Today marks a momentous occasion as Tollywood celebrates the centenary birth year of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR). Fans of the Akkineni family and film enthusiasts are commemorating this milestone by re-releasing several of ANR’s iconic films. In a grand celebration, Nagarjuna and his family made a significant announcement.
The Akkineni International Foundation has established the ANR National Award to honor the memory of the Tollywood legend. This prestigious award will be presented annually to recognize individuals for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. The latest update reveals that this year, the ANR National Award will be bestowed upon Padma Vibhushan Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Nagarjuna made this announcement during the centenary celebrations, stating, “A grand event will be held on October 28th, where the award will be presented to Chiranjeevi Garu by none other than Bollywood’s Shahenshah, Amitabh Bachchan Garu.”
He further added, “Our aim is to present this award each year. When I shared the news with Chiranjeevi Garu, he was deeply moved and embraced me, expressing that this is the most significant award of his life. We are thrilled to share this with everyone.”
