Chumbak is a new Hindi multi-generational comedy-drama that explores the colourful and often chaotic life of an urban colony. The series revolves around five quirky families who gradually become one extended household, creating a lively mix of humour, emotions and everyday drama.
Set against the backdrop of community living, Chumbak promises a nostalgic look at neighbourhood life, where privacy is almost non-existent and even the smallest incident can quickly become everyone’s business. The series blends comedy with warmth while highlighting the relationships, conflicts and unexpected bonds that develop among people living under one roof, or in this case, one bustling colony.
The series was originally scheduled to premiere on August 28, 2026. However, its release was postponed by nearly two weeks as Netflix reportedly reworked its promotional strategy and rollout plans.
The wait is now over. Chumbak is streaming from today, September 10, 2026, on Netflix. In India, the series became available at 12:30 PM, following Netflix’s global release schedule instead of the traditional midnight launch often associated with OTT premieres.
The show brings together an impressive ensemble cast, adding to the curiosity surrounding the project. Neena Gupta, Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Vyas, Manasi Parekh, Arjun Bijlani, Helly Shah, Delnaaz Irani and Sumeet Raghvan feature in key roles.
Chumbak is backed by Jamnadas (JD) Majethia and comes from Hats Off Production. The series has been written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, known for creating character-driven stories that combine humour with relatable family and social dynamics.
With its multi-generational setting, ensemble cast and focus on the unpredictable nature of community life, Chumbak aims to offer viewers a light-hearted yet emotional viewing experience.
Now that the series has finally arrived on Netflix, audiences can explore the quirky world of its five families and discover how their everyday lives turn into one big colony-wide drama.
