I’m pleased with the response of Sreekaram, says director

Hyderabad, March 17(Telugu Bullet)  Not many movies pertaining to agriculture and farm problems strike a chord with audiences. But Sharwanand-starrer Sreekaram is one of the movies that portrayed the ordeals of an average Indian farmer while highlighting the trend of the educated lot gradually getting into the allied sectors.

“Yes, several issues pertaining to the farm sector have been vastly discussed in Sreekaram. It was initially a short film that I made in 2016. Later, many of my friends advised me to make it a feature-length film. That’s how it got manifested with 14 Reels Plus company coming forward to lend support.

It was a proud moment in my life as I had the privilege of sharing the stage with Megastar Chiranjeevi garu and Minister KT Rama Rao garu who appreciated the movie for its storyline during the promotional events,” director B Kishore said.

To make the sequences realistic, the production company took 40 acres for lease, cultivated crops to shoot parts of Sreekaram. “It was a challenging task for the entire unit,” he shares.

Hailing from a conservative peasant family in the interiors of the Chittoor district, Kishore first wanted to become a culinary expert and settle in the hotel management industry.

The idea of incorporating the subject of farming came to his mind long back. Later, Kishore happened to meet several techies who turned out to be progressive farmers in the Telugu States and outside. “Some of them have left their jobs in the USA to take a shot at farming, we’ve plenty of them in Chittoor. And I’ve met techie-turned farmers in Visakhapatnam and from other States who changed their career paths to become successful farmers. So, I sensed a strong potential in real-life success stories which could be a full-length film,” he says.

Sharwanand has performed his role in a very settled manner, as Kishore says, “The characters played by Rao Ramesh and Saikumar have equally gained attention from audiences. I’m very pleased with the response of Sreekaram,” he said.

Over at the box office, the race gems collapsed unable to withstand the competition. Disaster Talk brought the film to OTT. The OTT platform will be released on March 19 in Aha. It seems that the Aaha team has struck a good deal with the film unit for this.

Rajendra Prasad played the lead role of Sri Vishnu and Lovely Singh in ‘Gaali Sampath’. Directed by Anish, the film is directed by Anil Ravipudi. Built by Krishna, Sahu Garapati, Harish Paddy.

The film, which premiered on March 11, failed miserably to garner collections. With this, the producers opted for an OTT release. As a result, Pattumani’s coming to OTT less than ten days before the film’s release has become a hot topic in Tollywood.

Jonita Gandhi: Pandemic gave singers chance to connect with music within us

Mumbai, March 17 (Telugu Bullet) Singer Jonita Gandhi said that music videos are a great way for singers to reach out to their audience. In the case of film songs, she points out, fans only know the actors they see on screen and often have no idea who sang the song.

“We’re living in a visual era. As a singer, especially in Bollywood, we don’t often get to be the face of our voice, so listeners don’t get to know who we are. Music videos for independent music give us the opportunity to be the face of our own voice,” she said.

The singer said the pandemic gave singers a chance to make independent music, and hence the scope to interact with fans directly.

“With the rise of the pandemic, artists have been exploring (the idea of) making music from home and there have been a lot more original songs released independently, a lot of them have been in a DIY kind of acoustic or with minimalistic production vibes. I think the pandemic gave us artistes a chance to connect with the music within us, and space to create what we enjoy rather than solely commercial tracks, and it seems the audience has developed a taste for it as well,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jonita has collaborated with singer Arjuna Harjai for their number “Main Janu na”.

Talking about working with him, she said: “Arjuna and I began our journeys around the same time. We’ve worked together several times in the past and share a connection on certain musical tastes, which makes it such a great experience working with him. His compositions are musically enriched and soulful, so it’s always such a fulfilling experience to sing for him. When he approached me to collaborate on Main Janu na, it was a no-brainer once I heard the song.”
