Sree Vishnu, popularly known as the King of Entertainment, has arrived in theatres with his latest comedy drama, Comrade Kalyan. Featuring Mahima Nambiar as the female lead, the film has made a decent start at the box office, raising hopes for stronger collections over the opening weekend.
Directed by Janakiram Marella, Comrade Kalyan is set against the backdrop of the Andhra–Odisha border in 1992. The film combines comedy and drama, offering audiences a different setting for its narrative.
The movie reportedly received decent reviews from critics, while the initial audience response has also been encouraging. According to early box-office reports, collections witnessed an upward trend with successive shows on the opening day, indicating growing interest among moviegoers.
At the worldwide box office, Comrade Kalyan collected over ₹4 crore on its first day, according to the reported figures. The opening is being viewed as a fair start for the Sree Vishnu-starrer, with expectations of further growth on the second day if the positive word of mouth continues.
The film also features Radhika, Sudarshan, Shine Tom Chacko, Upendra Limaye and Sai Chand in important roles. Kona Venkat presents the project, which is produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner.
Vijay Bulganin has composed the music for the film, adding to its entertainment appeal.
With a reasonable opening and encouraging initial feedback, Comrade Kalyan will now look to build momentum over the weekend. Its second-day performance will offer a clearer indication of whether the film can sustain audience interest at the box office.
