Superstar Rajinikanth is back in action, and this time with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-anticipated gangster drama, Coolie. From chart-topping songs like “Monica” to the viral energy of the newly released “Powerhouse”, the promotional campaign has struck gold across the board.
Now, the pre-release buzz has translated into a record-breaking overseas opening. According to the latest box office tracking updates, Coolie has already crossed $500K in advance sales in the USA, with nearly all scheduled shows reporting near-full bookings. The demand is so high that exhibitors are rushing to open additional screens and shows.
The Telugu dubbed version alone has surpassed $60K, an impressive figure considering the film is still three weeks away from its theatrical debut on August 14, 2025. The excitement among non-Tamil audiences proves the pan-India reach of the Rajinikanth-Lokesh combination.
The makers have opted for late-night premiere slots, which may slightly limit the opening day numbers, but it also indicates confidence in strong word-of-mouth to carry the film forward.
