Dhanush Begins Shooting for D54 with Director Vignesh Raja—First Look Out Now

Mamitha Baiju joins as female lead; the first poster shows Dhanush in a fiery cotton field

Fresh off the success of Kuberaa and wrapping up his Hindi project Tere Ishk Mein, Dhanush has officially begun shooting for his next Tamil film, tentatively titled D54. Directed by Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja, the much-anticipated film kickstarted production today with a striking first-look poster.

First Look Sets a Gritty Tone

The makers unveiled the commencement poster, which features Dhanush standing solemnly in a scorched cotton field, smoke and flames rising behind him—a powerful visual hinting at the film’s intense narrative and rural setting.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew

The film stars rising Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju (Premalu) as the female lead. The ensemble cast also includes

  • K.S. Ravikumar

  • Suraj Venjaramoodu

  • Karunas

  • Prithvi Pandiraj

Music is being composed by GV Prakash Kumar, who reunites with Dhanush after several successful collaborations.

Backed by Vels Film International

The project is being produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner, in association with Think Studios. With Vignesh Raja at the helm, known for his tight and gripping thrillers, D54 is already generating buzz for its grounded storytelling and emotional intensity.
