Sandalwood star Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently embroiled in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, will next be seen in the upcoming action drama Devil. On Sunday morning, the makers unveiled the film’s release date along with its first single.
Devil is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on December 12, 2025. The first song, “Idre Nemdiyaag Irbek”, a mass-hero introduction number composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, was also launched today.
Directed by Prakash Veer, the film stars Rachana Rai as the female lead, while Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan plays a key role. Prakash Veer produces the project in association with J Jayamma.
Darshan, who was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the brutal murder of his fan Renukaswamy, was initially granted bail on medical grounds by the Karnataka High Court. However, on August 14, 2024, the Supreme Court cancelled his bail, sending the actor back to judicial custody. He is listed as Accused No. 2, while actress Pavithra Gowda, his alleged girlfriend, has been named Accused No. 1 in the case.
