Telangana Schools and Colleges Announce Dasara Holiday Dates:
Dasara stands as the most significant festival in Telangana, marked by its extended and elaborate celebrations, partly due to the coincidence with another important festival, Batukamma, which falls in the same month. To accommodate these festivities, the government proactively announces holidays for schools, colleges, and offices.
In the recently released academic calendar for 2023-24, the Education Department reduced Dasara holidays to 13 days, down from the 14 days observed in the previous year. In 2023, Festival holidays are scheduled from October 14 to October 25, with schools and colleges set to reopen on October 26 (Thursday).
Additionally, the Christmas holidays have been shortened from 7 to 5 days. Sankranti day-offs are slated to span from January 12, 2024, to January 17, 2024. The educational calendar also mandates Parent-Teacher meetings on every third Saturday of the month, and School Education committee meetings are to convene during the first week of each month.
