The Delhi government is planning to change the office working hours in the city as one of the precautions to the reduction of congestion and air pollution.
The statement was tweeted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after his conference with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
“Met Hon’ble @LtGovDelhi Shri Anil Baijal Ji and discussed with him about the steps planned by Delhi govt to reduction of air pollution, including Odd-Even.
“He guaranteed us of his support and recommended the opening/closing hours of offices be staggered. The Govt will certainly implement this,” Mr Kejriwal tweeted.
According to an official, the opening and closing time of offices may be varied, but it will be eight working hours in a day.
“Met Hon’ble CM Delhi @ArvindKejriwal. Discussed few measures for the reduction of air pollution and congestion in Delhi.
“suggested to examine amongst other measures, option of tottered opening/closing hours of offices & other companies to reduce congestion and air pollution,” Lt Governor Baijal tweeted.
previously this month, Mr Kejriwal had declared the third version of odd-even scheme from November 4-15 in the capital among a slew of other trials to fight with high-level of air pollution caused due to stubble blazing in neighboring states during winters.
During the 12-day scheme, vehicles will appear on roads alternately on odd and even dates as per their registration numbers.
