In order to join the retail business, Swiggy purchases the retail distribution company Lynk.
Swiggy, an online food delivery platform, has acquired Lynk Logistics Limited, a retail distribution company, in a deal of undisclosed value. Following the acquisition, Lynk will continue to operate as an independent business under the leadership of its Co-founder and CEO, Shekhar Bhende. Lynk’s technology-driven distribution platform will facilitate Swiggy’s entry into the retail market. Established in 2015, Lynk is known as one of India’s largest FMCG retail distribution companies focusing on technology.
The acquisition allows Swiggy to leverage Lynk’s expertise and expand its offerings to empower retailers to provide better customer service. Lynk currently operates a network of over 100,000 retail stores across eight major cities in India and has experienced substantial growth and improved profitability. Lynk’s integrated technology platform enables efficient management of warehousing, inventory, and logistics operations, positioning the company as a full-stack FMCG retail distribution platform. Both are optimistic about the synergies created by this acquisition, expecting it to further accelerate growth and seize the significant opportunities in the market.
