Do ‘Indian 2’ Producers demand Rs 75 Crore for Telugu Rights?

Date:

Reputable Kollywood production company Lyca Productions is allegedly setting new records by requesting Rs 75 crores for the Telugu rights to their forthcoming masterpiece, “Indian 2.” “It is the highest price quoted for any Tamil film in recent times,” a distributor adds, citing Tamil producers’ belief that the potent duo of Shankar and Kamal Haasan will generate phenomenal openings. “Even the big success of dubbed films like ‘Jailer’ and ‘Leo’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana could have given them confidence in Tamil producers, so they are reluctant to cut down,” he continues.

‘Indian’ was really released in Telugu as ‘Bharateeyudu’ in the 1990s, and it was a box office hit in two Telugu states. The Telugu crowd responded well to the liberation fighter-turned-vigilante’s rant against corruption. “It was one of the biggest hits for Kamal and director Shankar and they intend to repeat the magic after two decades,” he says.

The latest trailer, dubbed “Indian 2 Intro,” however, demonstrates how eager everyone in the nation has been awaiting the follow-up. The trailer for Indian 2, which presents Kamal as “Indian” once more, features the actor in a variety of poses. In the teaser, an almost unrecognizable Kamal Haasan calls corrupt officials and politicians in the nation from a phone booth in a far-off place. He is dressed in formal attire, has a growing mustache and gray hair, and is warning them not to do business.
