Elon Musk intends to introduce “XWire,” a news distribution service

Date:

According to reports, Elon Musk intends to introduce XWire, a news distribution service that will compete with current platforms for sharing press releases and company PR news.

The news wire project was discussed at an all-hands meeting with staff members that was led by X CEO Linda Yaccarino and Elon Musk, according to Bloomberg.

Citing sources, the report stated that “the duo also referenced ambitions to create a news wire service called XWire, which would rival Cision’s PR Newswire.”

Regarding how X would more effectively compete with platforms that disseminate company news and press releases, Musk and Yaccarino did not share many details.

Musk, who is placing a significant wager on X Corp becoming a reliable news source, stated last week that the platform is “open source news” and that anything pertinent from traditional media is already accessible on X.

“They get the final say and can double down on their false narrative when fake news spreads on CNN, MSNBC, or in The New York Times or Washington Post,” the X user wrote.

Yes, Musk replied, mentioning that X is an open-source news portal.

That is the appropriate approach to take. In any case, anything pertinent from legacy media is republished here,” he continued.

Last month, Musk urged individuals to cover X through citizen journalism.

“Please support the expansion of citizen journalism! Using your phone, you can easily record live video. “The world will change with more everyday citizens reporting from the ground up,” he declared.

Musk extended an invitation to journalists in August to publish directly on X, the former Twitter, in exchange for a higher salary.

The business has also focused on hiring through the @XHiring account and using videos to compete with platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube.
