Every District will have a Helipad in TS
Every district headquarters in the state of Telangana is expected to have a Helipad in the near future. Minister for Roads & Buildings, and Women and Child Development, Thummala Nageshwara Rao while addressing the state assembly stated that ‘plans are being developed to come up with a helipad in every district headquarter in the state of Telangana. The state government requires about 20 acres to construct and maintain a helipad.’
‘The idea of coming up with a helipad in each district headquarter might seem fancy and possible. But acquiring the land for each helipad would be a tough challenge. The government has already acquired large chunks of lands to construct collectorate and other government offices. And the farmers are retaliating at the government for providing low compensations. And now acquiring these 20 acres will be very difficult without paying compensations at the market value,’ said a senior official.
T.Nageshwara Rao also stated that ‘Collectorate offices will be constructed in 1.50 Lakh sq.ft area in the districts of Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Khammam, and Nizamabad. While the collectorates in the rest of the districts will occupy 1.20 Lakh sq.ft.’
The estimated cost of constructing collectorates in 26 districts of Telangana is expected to be around 1,032 Crores.
