China BBQ restaurant explosion results in 31 fatalities
An explosion resulting from a gas tank leak at a barbecue restaurant in Yinchuan City, China, has led to the tragic death of at least 31 individuals, with seven others sustaining injuries. The incident occurred in the Xingqing district around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Among the injured, one person remains in critical condition.
President Xi Jinping has called for swift rescue operations, proper medical treatment for the injured, and a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident. He emphasized the importance of holding accountable those responsible for the incident and urged all regions and relevant departments to identify and rectify any potential risks or hazards.
A task force comprising multiple central government organizations has been dispatched to the site to oversee rescue operations. The investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
