Sigma marks the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay. Headlined by Sundeep Kishan, the film is an action-adventure comedy backed by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner. Faria Abdullah plays the female lead in the movie, which is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2.
Ahead of the release, Faria Abdullah interacted with the media and shared some interesting insights about Jason Sanjay and his approach to filmmaking. The actress was particularly impressed by his confidence and screen presence during the film’s audio launch.
“I was shocked to see Jason Sanjay’s screen presence at the audio launch. The way he spoke, even requesting a podium, made me think that he could become a CM one day,” Faria said.
The actress also revealed that Thalapathy Vijay maintained a deliberate distance from the production during the shoot. According to Faria, Vijay neither visited the sets nor called Jason while the film was being made.
“Thalapathy Vijay garu never came to the sets or called Jason during the shoot. He wanted to make this film only on his own merit. Jason is clear about not getting influenced by his father,” she added.
Faria further praised Jason Sanjay for the way he handled the film’s cast and crew at a relatively young age. She believes that audiences will eventually look beyond his identity as a star kid and recognise his work as a filmmaker.
“After a while, we will forget the fact that Jason Sanjay is a star kid. Handling the cast and crew with such finesse at the age of 24 is very inspiring,” the actress stated.
Sigma features Raju Sundaram, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sampath Raj, Kiran Konda, and Magalakshmi Sudharsanan in supporting roles. Thaman is composing the music for the film.
With its October 2 release date approaching, Sigma is gearing up to introduce Jason Sanjay as a director. The combination of Sundeep Kishan’s lead performance, Faria Abdullah’s presence, and Jason’s directorial debut has generated interest ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
