A significant blaze erupted at an oil refining plant on the outskirts of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, causing dense smoke to blanket the Kanuru area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the fire broke out when the facility was unoccupied.
Upon receiving the alarm, five fire engines swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully brought the flames under control. Preliminary investigations suggest that a potential short circuit may have triggered the fire, which rapidly spread due to the presence of petrochemical products at the site.
Authorities deployed advanced equipment and utilized foam compound to extinguish the blaze. However, it was revealed that the facility lacked the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire services department.
In response, police have initiated an investigation and registered a case to ascertain the cause of the fire and any potential negligence on the part of the facility management.
