Three people were caught by the Malkalgiri special operations team and Keesara police smuggling 430 kg of ganja into the city from Odisha. The ganja was hidden in eight “iron pillar boxes” inside a mino-truck. While the organizer Bahulya Leelavathi and two other people managed to flee, the police detained Mohan Rathod, Pedda Babu Rao, and Maddela Ramesh.
Akkabathula Lakshamaa Kumar, 32, and Ganta Srinu Babu, 26, were apprehended by Hayathnagar police in a separate operation. 200 kg of ganja, a tanker that contained the drug, and a cell phone were also taken, totaling Rs 60.10 lakh. They were moving ganja to Pine from Rampachodavaram, Andhra Pradesh.
K. Akash, 25, of Maruthinagar, Attapur, was taken into custody by the Bahadurpura police, who also seized Rs 27,000 in cash, a two-wheeler, a smartphone, and 5.8 kg of ganja.
