In Poonch, J&K, four terrorists were gunned down in a 24-hour period.
In a recent operation, the Army and local police successfully neutralized four terrorists in the Poonch district within the past 24 hours. The Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps of the Army reported on its Twitter page that the operation, Trinetra II, involved a significant Cordon and Search Operation based on specific intelligence. The joint effort by the Indian Army and JKP (Jammu and Kashmir Police) took place near Sindarah and Maidana villages in the Surankote tehsil of Poonch district.
The outcome of the operation resulted in the elimination of the four terrorists, and the recovery of four AK-47 rifles, two pistols, and other weapons and equipment. This successful action has prevented potential terrorist-initiated incidents in the Rajouri and Poonch areas. Search operations are still ongoing as part of the operation.
The encounter began on Monday after receiving precise intelligence input. Prior to that, the Army had already thwarted a significant infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bahadur sector of Poonch district. This incident led to a large-scale cordon and search operation conducted jointly by the Army and local police in the affected area.
