A couple of weeks ago, after Amit Shah made sensational statements that BJP is nowhere related/associated with Mining Baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, everyone was shocked. Proving that those statements are a mere publicity stunt, and an attempt to improve the image of BJP in Karnataka, the BJP High Command has allotted 9 seats for people close to Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Gali’s brother Somasekhar Reddy will be contesting from Ballari Nagara constituency as a BJP candidate. Former Raichur MP, and a close aide of Gali, Sanna Fakkirappa will be contesting from Ballari Rural. At the same time, current Ballari MP B Sri Ramulu has also secured the ticket. Along with the above mentioned, Suresh Babu (Kampli), Chandra Nayak (Huvinahadagali), and Raja Nayak (Hagaribommanahalli) who secured the BJP tickets are from Gali Janardhan Reddy’s inner circles.
The fate of the Gali-backed candidates will be decided in less than a month. After winning in the 2008 elections, Gali Janardhan Reddy shone like a bright star, before meeting the rock bottom.Currently, the Mining Baron is facing a string of cases in the Supreme Court on the charges of illegal mining.
