Call off ‘The Family Man 2’ web series on Amazon Prime: Seeman
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Founder Seeman on Friday demanded calling off the Amazon Prime web series ‘The Family Man 2’ as it portrays Tamils as vicious and the Liberation Tiger for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists.
In a statement issued here Seeman said that the trailer of the web series ‘The Family Man 2’ is shocking.
“The series seeks to intentionally portray the LTTE as terrorists and Tamils as vicious people. It is no coincidence that Chennai has been chosen as the location,” Seeman said.
According to him, the web series story revolves around an Eelam – in Sri Lanka- woman who is portrayed as a militant.
“The colour of her dress resembles that of an LTTE uniform, with dialogues referring to links between the militant group and the Pakistani ISI,” Seeman said.
“In a situation where 2 lakh Tamils in Eelam have been slaughtered by the tyranny of Sinhala chauvinism, the attempt to portray the Tamils as terrorists through a web series that stand as the greatest democrats and seeking justice in the international forums through moral and legal struggle is highly condemnable,” Seeman added.
According to him as soon as the trailer of the series, which was created to mislead Tamils, was released, Tamils all over the world have been registering their condemnation with great anger.
Urging the web series be banned, Seeman said that already, the films such as “Inam” and “Madras Cafe” that portray Tamils in a wrong manner were refrained from screening in theatres due to widespread opposition.
The NTK is the third largest party in terms of vote share after the recently concluded assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. The party had secured about seven per cent vote share.

Horror film ‘Host’ to digitally release on May 7
The Rob Savage-directed horror flick “Host” is all set to release on OTT on May 7.
The found footage horror film was shot completely during lockdown last year. The English language film will release in India across four languages, including subsequent release later in May in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
After its success in the US, Savage’s film caught the attention of Blumhouse, the production company behind the likes of “Paranormal Activity”, “Happy Death Day”, and “The Purge”. Last year, the filmmaker went on to sign a three-picture deal.
“Host is a well-crafted, anxiety-inducing thrill-ride from start to finish with an electrifying dose of horror,” said Avinaash Jumani, CEO of PictureWorks, which will release the film on Amazon Prime Video in India.
Venkatesh-starrer ‘Narappa’ release postponed
Actor Venkatesh shared an Instagram post on Thursday to inform fans that his upcoming Telugu film “Narappa” has been postponed owing to the Covid pandemic. The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 14.
“‘Narappa’ is a film that we have made with a lot of dedication and hard work and your love towards the film has been overwhelming. However,we are all going through a turbulent time during this unprecedented global pandemic and hence, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience,the theatrical release of the film has been postponed,” Venkatesh wrote on Instagram.
“We will bring Narappa to you just when the time is right… Until then, be safe take care of yourself and stay strong. We will all get through this together. Please mask up, STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE #NarappaPostponed,” he added.
“Narappa” is the Telugu remake of Dhanush’s National Award-winning Tamil hit, “Asuran”.

Actor Sonu Sood took to Instagram on Wednesday to urge more people to come forward and help those who are suffering due to Covid.
He posted a screen recording of his phone that shows the actor has been getting messages from people asking for help continuously. He says he is trying to help as many people as possible.
“The speed at which we get requests across the country. Trying my best to reach out to everyone. Everyone…Please come forward. We need more helping hands. Do your best to the best of your capabilities,” he wrote.
The actor tested Covid positive a while back but was back to helping people as soon as he recovered from the virus.
Sonu was appointed brand ambassador of Punjab’s Covid vaccination program by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh earlier this month. Last year, during the lockdown, he helped thousands of migrants reach home safely. He also provided e-rickshaws to the unemployed.
