Genelia Opens Up About Her Telugu Comeback and Future in Tollywood
Popular actress Genelia Deshmukh, who ruled the Telugu film industry in the early 2000s, is all set to make a strong comeback with the upcoming family drama Junior. After a hiatus of thirteen years, the actress is returning to Tollywood, much to the delight of her fans.
In a recent interaction with the media, Genelia spoke candidly about her plans in Telugu cinema. She revealed that she is open to doing more Telugu films, but only if the scripts offer substance. “I’ve become more selective now. I want to be part of stories where my character truly matters,” she said.
Genelia was last seen in the successful Bollywood film Sitaare Zameer Par alongside Aamir Khan. Now, in Junior, she plays a pivotal role as the sister of lead actor Kireeti Reddy. Her character is said to have a strong influence on the storyline.
The film also stars Sreeleela as the female lead and is set for a theatrical release on July 18, 2025. With Genelia’s return and a compelling family narrative, Junior is already creating buzz among Telugu audiences.
