GMR To Adopt Golconda ITC To Adopt Charminar

It is a welcome move for the people, and the government to get inspired by a movie, and do a good thing for the society. After watching the film ‘Srimanthudu’ directed by Koratala Siva starring Mahesh Babu, many business magnets, politicians, and celebrities adopted rural villages and worked for their development.

But the latest development among the political circles is shocking everyone. Already there is an ongoing rage after Central Government gave permission for Dalmia Group to adopt Red Fort. Adding to this two private behemoths expressed their willingness to the ‘Adoption Committee’ under the Archeological Survey of India department.

GMR Sports Private Limited (owner of Delhi Daredevils IPL Franchise), and a subsidiary of the GMR Group wrote a letter, expressing its interesting in adopting Golconda Fort in Hyderabad. Similarly, ITC wrote a letter expressing its interest in adopting the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad.

While the Dalmia Group who also expressed its interest in adopting Golconda Fort believes that it will be given the opportunity over other competitors. On the contrary, many historians believe that the adoption of these heritage sites by the private companies will soon turn them into business hubs, damaging their reputation as a heritage icon.
