Monster Mash Mania! Godzilla vs Kong Crushes 100 Crore in India

Date:

The epic clash between Godzilla and Kong wasn’t just a global smash, it roared its way into the hearts (and wallets) of Indian audiences! This latest MonsterVerse movie just stomped into the elite 100 Crore Club, proving Indian fans love a good giant monster brawl.

South India turned out to be Godzilla and Kong’s biggest fans, with Tamil Nadu shelling out over 25 Crore to see the titans duke it out. Telugu states weren’t far behind, throwing down a cool 15 Crore. Even Karnataka and Kerala got in on the action, bringing in over 10 Crore and 5 Crore respectively. That’s a monstrous 55 Crore from South India alone!

The rest of the country didn’t disappoint either, pushing the total India gross past the coveted 100 Crore mark. And the good news keeps coming – Godzilla and Kong are still packing theaters this weekend, with strong bookings keeping the party going.

In case you missed it, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire follows Kong on a wild journey to find his own kind in the mysterious Hollow Earth. But things get hairy (or should we say, scaly?) when they encounter a new, even more terrifying foe. Luckily, Godzilla decides to team up with Kong to take down this monstrous menace! Directed by Adam Wingard, the film also features a stellar human cast including Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens.
