Governor Narasimhan to resign: New governors for two Telugu states

Date:

Nine state governors are set to retire in the next three months.
Among them are ESL Narasimhan, Joint Governor of Telugu States.

The five-year term of the Governors of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Goa, Nagaland, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh-Telangana states will end in the next three months.
There is speculation that the Modi government has decided to send senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and Sumitra Mahajan as governors to the vacant states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to appoint governors to the vacant Chhattisgarh and Mizoram states.
The decision to appoint different governors to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is reported.
But there are chances to re-appoint Kerala Governor P Sathasivam (70), who is set to retire in August.
It has reported in the past that Sushma Swaraj will be appointed the governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Sushma Swaraj also dismissed the news.
Sumitra Mahajan did not contest the last election. So she has the opportunity to run for governor.

According to information received from Home Ministry sources, Narasimhan will be transferred or appointed as the Jammu and Kashmir affairs advisor.
