Grand Immersion Marks Conclusion of Bada Ganesh Farewell:

The highly anticipated immersion of the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, as the idol embarked on its journey from its installation point at 6 a.m. that day. Covering a distance of approximately 2 kilometers and taking around 7.5 hours, the Bada Vinayaka procession reached the designated immersion point near Crane No. 4 on the NTR marg.

Throughout the route, throngs of devotees gathered to seek the final blessings of Lord Vinayak during this Ganeshotsav, accompanied by organizers and surrounded by tight security. The procession of the Bada Ganesh concluded successfully, culminating in a traditional immersion ritual.

Preparations for the immersion of what is arguably the country’s tallest Vinayaka idol, weighing approximately 50 tonnes, commenced on Wednesday midnight. After the vehicle was ready for the procession, organizers conducted a special puja early in the morning, setting the stage for a day filled with festivities, drum beats, and prayers by devoted followers.

Two specialized vehicles were brought from Vijayawada to facilitate the idol’s immersion. While in the previous year, the idol was immersed in the lake at 6:30 p.m., this year’s meticulous planning ensured an earlier immersion, accomplished by 1:30 p.m.

The successful conclusion of this major event brought a sense of relief to the police and civic authorities. Simultaneously, the Balapur Vinayaka has entered the city limits and is following its designated route within the city for immersion, which is also scheduled for the evening. Furthermore, thousands of Ganesh idols from various parts of the city converge at the MJ market junction and then proceed towards Hussain Sagar for their own immersions.
