Pawan Kalyan’s epic period action film Hari Hara Veera Mallu has now arrived on OTT. The film, which was released in theatres less than a month ago, premiered today on Amazon Prime Video — within just 27 days of its theatrical release.
Interestingly, the version released on OTT is not the original theatrical cut, but a trimmed and re-edited version with several changes.
When Hari Hara Veera Mallu first released in cinemas, it faced criticism for a few sequences that featured subpar VFX. Responding to the backlash, the makers corrected certain visual effects and re-released an updated version in theatres. However, the OTT version has gone a step further by completely removing the criticised sequences.
The deleted portions include:
-
The horse-riding sequence
-
The scene where Pawan Kalyan aims an arrow while jumping in the air
In addition, netizens noticed that the climax was altered for the OTT cut. The movie now ends with a Part 2 announcement immediately after the “Asura Hananam” song, instead of the original extended climax. Reportedly, a few of Bobby Deol’s dialogues and action scenes were also chopped.
The final runtime of the OTT version is 153 minutes. Fans who missed the theatrical release can now watch the updated version directly on Prime Video.
