BRS leader and MLA T Harish Rao called upon the State government to swiftly assist farmers grappling with significant crop losses caused by untimely rains across various districts. Highlighting the extensive damage inflicted on crops like paddy, maize, and sorghum, as well as horticultural produce such as papaya and mango, he urged immediate action to alleviate the plight of affected farmers in districts like Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar.
Emphasizing the government’s responsibility to support the farming community during crises, Harish Rao urged the Congress-led government to promptly assess crop damages and provide compensation of Rs. 10,000 per acre to affected farmers. He underscored the need for swift response and proactive measures, citing the government’s delayed action despite ongoing rainfall-induced losses over the past few days. Additionally, he recalled the precedent set by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who promptly visited affected areas and initiated compensation measures during similar crises last year.
